Container
A conference, folder, community, or any other FirstClass object that contains items.
Directory
The location on the server where addresses for user accounts, conferences, public calendars, and other objects known to the server are stored.
Download
Save a copy of a file stored on the server to your own device, or send stored files to your device temporarily for viewing.
Envelope
The upper portion of an object such as a message, document, or calendar item. This portion contains information such as object name and subject. In the case of messages, it also contains addressing information.
Event
A time commitment, such as a meeting, that is recorded on a calendar.
FirstClass client
FirstClass' proprietary application that you install on your desktop computer.
Mail list
A list of message recipients. Sending a message to a mail list automatically sends it to all recipients in the list.
Permissions
Settings that determine the default behavior of a container. Permissions also control what people can do within the container.
Task
Something that you need to do, such as submitting a report, that is recorded on a calendar. The task may have a specified deadline.
Thread
A group of messages or community posts that were sent in reply to each other.
Upload
Copy a file to the server.
